I have always had issues with my diabetes since I was diagnosed when I was 4 years old. Every step of my career and my life has been a challenge. But I am lucky because I have been given the tools to contribute to my persivilience.
This persivilience is a new word which was coined by Alastair Campbell recently, it is a combination of perseverance and resilience. I believe this word shows the determination that is required of people with disabilities every day. Whether it is the courage to act when anyone would allow your excuses or the smile in the face of pity.
I hope that by showing a better path forward for society I can help to inspire a persivilience that I often could not hope to achieve.
