Pippa Stacey
Writer, influencer, and communication consultant
Media and Publishing
Pippa Stacey is an award-winning writer, blogger, and communication consultant. Writing is her job and her passion, and has led to her becoming a published author, engaging with freelance writing opportunities, and curating her popular blog and social media platforms at Life Of Pippa.
As a disabled influencer, she has grown an online community of over 15,000 people. Pippa is a trusted voice in the chronic illness community, and is often told by people with similar conditions that her words and shared experiences bring them more comfort, validation, and practical tips and advice than any resources they can find elsewhere. She also engages with speaking and presenting opportunities in the media, and she loves partnering with brands on meaningful campaigns. Recent collaborations include roadtesting travel itineraries with Visit England, promoting accessible initiatives to explore the outdoors with BBC iPlayer, interviewing disabled authors for Penguin Random House, and plenty more.
She also works as a communication consultant in the charity sector, with a particular love for supporting smaller organisations with big ambitions. Through her work with Astriid, she creates training and resources centred around working with a long-term illness, to ensure individuals can put their best foot forward and employers can learn how to support employees with Energy Limiting Conditions. She is also part of the DecodeME team, the world’s biggest (and long-awaited) DNA study into ME/CFS, and is part of the team developing the cross-government Delivery Plan on ME/CFS to influence future actions for those living with the condition.
Pippa has a dynamic disability and is an ambulatory wheelchair user. Through all her work, she advocates for people with Energy Limiting Conditions (like her own) to become better represented and accommodated in the social model of disability. By combining her professional work with charities and organisations with her impactful storytelling abilities, she aims to ensure that the chronic illness community is supported and empowered to live the life they choose.
“It’s an honour to be recognised in this year’s Disability Power 100. Through all my work I hope to fly the flag for people with Energy Limiting Conditions like my own and ensure we’re visible and accommodated in the social model of disability too. Here’s to the future and plenty of exciting times ahead!”
