Mark is a public speaker, disability campaigner, fundraiser and blogger. He also works part time as Head of Communications for Shift.ms, a social network and charity for all those impacted by Multiple Sclerosis, especially the newly diagnosed.

Mark focuses especially on positivity and on disability in the workplace, having had an exceptionally good experience with his then employers Dixons Retail through MS diagnosis and progression.

He is the UK disability lead for the world’s largest professional PR body, the PRCA’s Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council. Under this banner he has launched and hosts a monthly Podcast, Disability@TheTable.

Mark has previously held senior PR and communications roles at Disneyland Paris, David Lloyd Leisure and Dixons, where he was named one of the UK’s ‘Power Part-Timers’ in 2015.

He is an adrenaline junkie when his condition and his wife allow. He exercises all the bits of him that still work – and stretches the bits that don’t. He plays Wheelchair Rugby for the Bournemouth Lions. Very badly.

This year, unable to do anything bonkers like a skydive or a Tough Mudder, he has raised over £5,000 for Shift.ms in a self-imposed home ‘Virathlon’: Wheelchair Rolling over 30km, shuffling nearly 5km with his rollator, and bicep curling over 300 tonnes while watching telly.
