Laura is a disability and inclusive fashion advocate. Growing up with an invisible disability – Cystic Fibrosis – and currently on the double lung transplant waiting list, Laura has dedicated her life to doing everything she can to ensure the fashion and retail industry is fully inclusive and has the role models she lacked growing up.

She is the co-founder of luxury womenswear brand Careaux with her sister Rachel, where she has created a world first innovation focused on inclusive design. From this she has also co-founded The Inclusive Viewpoint, a platform and community sharing best practices and actions to create a fully inclusive and accessible fashion industry. Laura also founded This is Visibility, a community raising awareness for disabilities and tackling the economic inequality facing disabled people.

Laura is a strong public advocate for accessibility through her role as an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, Women of the Future and the NHS Organ Donation campaign. She is also a volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Leonard Cheshire Changemakers and has submitted evidence to the UK Women and Equality Committee inquiry into body image with the UK Models Working Group. Laura has been featured in articles, panels, TV and radio speaking on inclusivity in the fashion industry including Drapers, BBC, Sky News and part of the BBC 50:50 initiative. She also volunteers to speak at schoolsand corporates about disability and her lived experiences, volunteering more than 5000 hours with over 100 organisations.

“Disability affects so many of us. To have an inclusive, accessible & fair society we need to make sure that we are not left out of the plans, policy making and the conversations.”
