Sport
I was born with a hearing loss, then started losing my sight as a teenager due to Usher Syndrome. My vision has steadily decreased. In my thirties I discovered climbing and quickly progressed onto the GB Paraclimbing Team, competing in the B2 category, and attending National and International competitions for 7 years. Now I am a B1, have retired from competition climbing but climb recreationally. Sailing is one of my new sports and I sail with the GB Blind Sailing Team.
For many years I have been a Trustee for Deafblind UK, and now I am also going to be a Trustee for a new charity to help disabled people access adventures and challenges.
“Take the opportunity to try something new, you never know how much you might enjoy it.”
