When my sight degraded significantly with ocular albinism, it was a very tough. Having everything taken away from me, out of my hands was so difficult and Judo saved my life and gave me a purpose.
Winning gold in Tokyo was a dream come true and for this to be followed up by being given an MBE, I could not feel more humble and proud.
I am now setting my sights on making history by winning gold again next year in Paris 2024 in a different weight category which hasn’t been done in 25 years.
“I’m so honoured to be included in this list and all I ever try to do is be the best version of my self. I just believe that what you can achieve is solely up to you and the hard work you’re willing to put in and your disability can be your biggest superpower.”
