Andrew Hayward is a software engineer and disability advocate at Twitter, working on the Accessibility Experience Team, which he helped establish in 2020. He is also a co-founder and co-chair of Twitter Able, an internal resource group for disabled employees. He actively participates in public and industry dialogue on accessibility and disability issues, through conference engagements and social media.

He has previously worked at Etsy, Nature Publishing and Six to Start, during which time he won multiple awards (including ‘Best in Show’ at South by Southwest), and had his work displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. However, it was his time at Mozilla that really helped to solidify his dedication to building an open and accessible digital society.

In his spare time, you can find Andrew building cardboard creations with his son or doing a bit of carpentry. He also enjoys engaging in various outdoor pursuits, including a half ironman and charity bike rides. In 2017, he was recognised by the National Psoriasis Foundation for his fundraising efforts.
