The Disability Power 100 2024

The Disability Power 2024 is an event recognising people and organisations working to create change in the UK today. At the event we will announce the top ten most influential people and celebrate success across the disabled community. 

The event takes place at

Time: 5.00pm to 9.30pm 

Venue: The Drum, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley HA9 0FJ

Accessibility

The Drum has a high standard of accessibility, that includes:  

  • Blue badge parking  
  • Drop off points  
  • Level street access 
  • Wide doorways and access routes  
  • Clear signage  
  • Accessible toilet facilities  
  • A Changing Places facility  
  • Three lifts and two escalators

The event

At the prestigious event, you’ll have opportunities to network with the most influential disabled people in the UK, as well as people from businesses and government. 

We have live entertainment booked and you’ll be treated to drinks, canapes and a meal. We will serve the meal at seated tables.

Getting there

By tube – The Drum is five minutes from Wembley Park Tube Station (Metropolitan and Jubilee lines) and from Wembley Stadium Railway Station (where services operate to Marylebone). Estimate journey times to The Drum:

Wembley Park Tube Station has step free platform and train access.

Wembley Stadium Railway Station has step free access to platforms, assistance needs to be booked.

By bus – The 83, 483, 92, 182 and 206 buses all stop near the building and run frequently.

By car – The Civic Centre has a basement level pay and display car park where you can be dropped close to the entrance, with step free access to the venue.

Arriving at The Drum

The building has step-free access. 

Captions are being provided. Details will be provided by email before the event. 

British Sign Language interpretation is being provided.

A quiet zone will be available for anyone who wants to decompress.

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor and a Changing Places bathroom, there is an accessible toilet on the event floor. 

If you would like people at the event to respect your personal space, please inform staff at the registration desk and we will provide you with a lanyard to let others know.

Dress code – what to wear

Come to celebrate in whatever you feel comfortable in. Be yourself, this is a welcoming and friendly space. Some examples:

  • Alona will be wearing a long kimono
  • Catherine will be wearing a black jumpsuit with gold sparkly shoes
  • Chris may wear a white shirt with a jacket

COVID precautions  

In light of the recent increase of COVID cases, we suggest everyone attending should take a lateral flow test beforehand. Many of our audience are clinically vulnerable and we ask you only to attend if you are COVID-negative and symptom-free. If you would like to wear a face-mask while attending, please feel comfortable to do so.

Food 

A menu will be shared with guests ahead of the event.

Drinks

There will be welcome available on arrival. You will be able to take drinks into the awards ceremony and waiters will be available to top up your glass. 

There will also be a bar (card payment only) with further drinks including spirits and mixers.
