Chair of Level Playing Field
I am the Chair of Level Playing Field, a charity which advises individual disabled sports fans, disabled supporter associations, clubs and governing bodies as well as others about accessibility at sports stadia.
This work covers all sports we actively promote the importance of attending sporting events for disabled spectators as well as a recognition of the need for diversity in all aspects of sport. I firmly believe that accessibility is not something to be regarded as aspirational – it is a fundamental right that I constantly promote.
In my “day job”, I am Chief Examiner for the range of professional qualifications provided by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) and also act as an External Examiner on a degree course in Dublin.
As a disabled person, I am proud to be an alumnus of the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100.
“I know from personal experience as a disabled person just what a difference attending sporting events really makes. At Level Playing Field we hear so many positive stories from people whose lives have been changed for the good through being able to follow their team.”
