Following a spinal cord injury at the age of 17 in a freak rugby accident, I decided to keep pushing myself to be the best person I can. I went back to school to finish my A-levels. I then went to university, where in the evenings once a week, I attended a screen acting class at the local art centre.
From there, I got an audition for a Netflix show ‘Sex Education’. Since being cast, I am constantly told about how influential and groundbreaking the character of Isaac is in such a popular show: representing a demographic of society in a way that is rarely shown in popular culture. Isaac is witty, charming, playfully antagonistic and altogether unapologetic about his disability. This seems to have been something that has resonated with viewers.
