Christopher Catt is an international award winning coach, mentor, speaker and founder of The Enabled Life Elevator.
The Elevator seeks to break the notion that Disabled People’s greatest ambition should be independence and inclusion. In fact, with the right tools and resources, disabled people should be going beyond this to what he calls, Intradependence. Intradependence is all about fostering a collective sense of a positive collaboration between and for disabled people in all areas of their lives.
But you are probably thinking, where did all this begin?
Like most people with severe sight loss, Chris sought to fit-in and be like anyone else – get a good job, have a family etc. Yes, he did achieve all of this and much more, but in 2008, Chris hit rock bottom. Chris started to question everything about his identity, including the big philosophical questions – who am I. Not content with the mainstream answers, he set about defining his own unique identify. However, after learning the power of public speaking, Chris decided that he needed to share his own ‘enabled’ perspective with disabled people across the world.
The Enabled Way as Chris likes to call it.
