Samanta Bullock
CEO, SBShop
Samanta Bullock is the founder of SB Shop which is an inclusive marketplace with sustainability at its core. She uses fashion as one of the tools to promote real inclusion as it touches 100% of the population and also has massive power to influence inclusion through representation in all aspects of the industry including fashion communication.
Since launching the platform in June 2019 SB Shop has participated in the Freedomee launch at the House of Lords and was part of London Fashion Week in February of this year with the most diverse catwalk on the planet. However, a real change can’t be made just only with diverse models. Samanta believes disabled people must be represented in all aspects of the fashion industry from photographers to makeup artists to journalists etc. Also decision makers should be included in this list. Samanta created the #SBChallenge, a project focused on trying to influence the major fashion magazines to improve the visibility of disabled people.
As a wheelchair tennis player, Samanta represented Brazil in several tournaments from 2003 to 2009, winning a doubles silver medal at the Para Pan Am Games in 2007.
As a model Samanta participated in several fashion weeks: London, New York, Dubai, and other fashion shows around the world.
In the last year Samanta’s work has been recognised through a Focus Brasil award for Fashion, a SJL Foundation award for innovation in business, a Ladies of All Nations International award and she was also named on the Shaw Trust Power list for 2019.
“It’s great to know that we are doing is helping to improve people’s lives, bringing the right clothes but also visibility to our community. Let’s inspire the world with our actions”
